It's embroidery time!

My wonderful sewing machine with 60 built-in stitches has got me craving for changes in my wardrobe.
Today, it was my jeans' turn.

Red and dusty pink were selected as colors for the embroideries (stitch 46).

I just have to boast about my jeans

The sound of music

Winter has come and a little wool black dress is just what the doctor ordered.
I couldn't resist adding some rhythm

One, two, three, go!

Old jeans. New jeans.

I'm going through a phase that's giving me ideas to change my whole wardrobe.
Let's take for instance, my old jeans.
And the sleeves from what once used to be a dress.
Put them together

Add some silk ribbon

And we get a new pair of jeans

A bracelet or a necklace

Yesterday, I went into a mercery shop and left with these

I thought about making a necklace and sewed them on the string
I've got a necklace
And a bracelet, for that matter

Once upon a time

Looking through my wardrobe, I came upon a pair of pants. Actually, they are one of my oldest makeover projects. Well, the only ones that stayed with me for so long, anyway. I remember receiving them from my sister as a Christmas present. I was in my third year at the university and still trying to define my personal style.
I must have gathered that a grey pair of wool pants was far too simple for me. So I provided it with some adornments. I sewed some black ribbon to the edge of my pockets and cuffs. And I also sewed a shiny button in the middle of the black ribbon sewed to pockets.

Alexander McQueen - Spring 2016

I love the delicate touches of this collection. The fabrics and the unexpected combinations are really impressive.

Bed linen makeover

I bought a beautiful bed linen. While in the shop, I ignored the size and when I got home, I realized that it was too small for my bed.
I had to do something. And so I bought some fabric and decided to make it larger.
I cut the edges of the duvet cover and added 20 cm per part.
Here is the result

Then, I added other 20 cms to every part of the bed sheet
In order to make the pillow cases match the bed sheet and the duvet cover, I cut into the middle of the pillow cases and added some purple fabric, too.

One could say that I learned from my mistakes. If I ever buy another set of bedding without paying attention to the measurements, I'll know that I have another DIY project coming.

Nails Splurge

Sometimes the nail salon is just too far from your home.
In situations like this, you can only grab the nail polishes you have in your house and play with them.
It's exactly what I did.
